5. Plan for Recruitment and Enrollment

Establish Your Enrollment Process

Once you’ve raised awareness about the program, the next stop is to decide how your employees will enroll. Your process will likely be influenced by the methods you intend to use to identify eligible employees.
  • If you plan to use the Prediabetes Risk Test, your employees will self-report that they’re eligible and take some sort of action to sign up. To help your employees enroll, you might provide a link to a website, allow employees to register during an informational session, or give them the name of someone to contact.
  • If you’re identifying eligible employees through a retrospective data review or by gathering new data, you’re likely working with a partner in these efforts. This partner can reach out to the employees and help them sign up.
Regardless of which approach you use, you’ll need to clearly outline the process for interested and eligible employees to enroll. And remember to always take employee privacy into account when you’re planning your activities. Using existing channels and familiar processes for enrollment will make it easier for you and your employees. If you’re working directly with a benefit administrator or a CDC-recognized program delivery organization, talk with them to understand their usual processes and refine them, as needed, to meet your population’s preferences and needs.
