Promoting Employee Health: Strategies for Lifestyle Change in the Workplace
This session discussed the critical role employers play in supporting employees with diabetes prevention and management programs and services. Attendees learned about examples of adopting effective communication and wellness program implementation strategies, and discussed challenges and opportunities related to integration of lifestyle change and condition management programs with pharmacy benefits, focusing on GLP1s and other emerging therapies. 

The session featured a dynamic panel discussion followed by an interactive question-and-answer session that provided a platform for participants to exchange ideas and explore practical solutions.

Learning objectives:

  •  Identify the role of benefit decision-makers in supporting lifestyle change among employees at various levels of risk for developing prediabetes and type 2 diabetes. 
  • Analyze the challenges and opportunities in integrating lifestyle change and condition management programs with pharmacy benefits, focusing on GLP1s and other emerging therapies.
  • Engage in interactive discussions and knowledge-sharing among participants to explore innovative approaches to healthcare benefit design that promote type 2 diabetes prevention and management. 
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the steps necessary to advance diabetes prevention using an evidence-based program pathway and a free online decision support tool.

Workplace Benefits Beyond the Scale: Implementing the National Diabetes Prevention Program
During the event, representatives from Emory University shared:

  • How type 2 diabetes prevention has become a priority within their organization
  • Why they chose to cover the National Diabetes Prevention Program (National DPP) lifestyle change program
  • How they have structured their benefit to best reach their workforce

Participants also learned more about Healm, and how it can assist employer benefit decision-makers in making informed choices about providing the National DPP lifestyle change program as a covered benefit for employees.

Creating a Diabetes Prevention Benefit that Works for your Employees
Learn about type 2 diabetes prevention efforts in the workforce during this 90-minute webinar. Participants will hear from national public health leaders and benefits professionals.  Representatives from MetroHealth (Cleveland, OH) will share how type 2 diabetes prevention has become a priority within their organization, why they chose to cover the National Diabetes Prevention Program (National DPP) lifestyle change program, how they have structured their benefit to best reach their workforce, and their program reach to date. Participants will be introduced to Healm and how to apply steps necessary to prevent type 2 diabetes in their organization.
